Rugby Borough Council do not have a statutory duty to provide sandbags and the performance of sandbags can be variable. Sandbags and sand can be acquired at local builders’ merchants and some parish councils may have also have a stock.

The Environment Agency has produced a guide to using sandbags for flood protection.
The government has issued advice on how to prepare for a flood, what to do during a flood, and how to recover afterwards.
